Community-Based Disaster Risk Management

Soliciting private sector’s support for building the capacities and reducing vulnerabilities of communities is one of CNDR’s core advocacy. CNDR is currently implementing two CBDRM projects:

Building Noah's Ark in Flood-Prone Communities is a community-based flood preparedness project initiated by the OurLighthouse Alliance. Noah's Ark aims to find a safe spot in a high-risk area and develop it into an evacuation center where people will feel safe and secure, and develop capacities of vulnerable communities to prepare for flooding.
Partners for Resilience is a five-year program developed by five Netherlands-based organization (CARE, Cordaid, Wetlands International, Netherlands Red Cross, and RC Climate Centre) which aims to integrate community-based ecological, humanitarian and development approaches to address the increased risk of hazards, climate change and environment degradation
